What a difference a sun makes

After a cold night we awoke to a blanket of fog, before it burned off to a sunny blue sky. What a difference in visiting St Cirq this morning and needing to take off layers of clothing! My head cold seemed to improve straight away.
We moved early into the town to explore and now found it to one of the most beautiful villages we’ve ever seen. Nice too that it wasn’t just tourists, but people lived and worked in the place. Views from the top over the countryside were stunning.
Drove on to another favourite in Cordes sur Ciel, a hilltop town that is full of atmosphere. Have great memories of our stay here three years ago with Kez and Frank. Stopped for lunch in a bistro at the top with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside.
Final stop was the also stunning city of Albi and our hotel situated right on the Tarn river. We walked across the old bridge into the red brick old town to visit the incredible Cathedral and the Musée Toulouse Lautrec. Having walked up and down lots of hills today, we retired to our hotel for a drink in the bar and dinner in the restaurant.
