After fitting in so much yesterday and walking our legs off, the aim for today was to take it easy. We only had a short drive to our next stay and after a poor nights rest with back issues we abandons some longer scenic routes. First plan was a visit to the LaPerouse centre next to the hotel in Albi. a class of school children feigning interest and another Aussie couple expecting some connections to home were to be found.
Moved on to Montauban, where we expected to spend an hour or so in the Ingres Musée, only to find it closed for 3 months for renovations!
Walked through the old town, where everything but a few restaurants were closed for lunch. Found a very little restaurant near the closed tourist centre, where homemade food was the go and wine came in carafes and no English was spoken.
After checking in to the lovely Abbaye de Capucins hotel we took an afternoon drive out to two small medieval towns for a look about. Not another tourist, or living creature in sight in these quite remarkable old villages.
