We headed to Fowey ( pronounced Foy) which is a well off town on the estuary SE of St Austell. After parking at the main car park the walk down was long and very steep. We enjoyed the town and thought of a round trip ferry to our other destination Mevagissey, but found I'd have to walk all the way back up to move the car. We opted for a little steam launch tour of the harbour and river. It turned out to be a private tour as no one else joined us. Very nice trip despite a little wind and shower.
I then had a brisk walk to get to the car as our ticket ran out, with Gail promising to follow slowly behind...... She arrived just after me by taking the bus!
On to Mevagissey to join another throng of people enjoying a sunny break. It is an operating fishing village with a large fleet of boats in the harbour and the usual shops and eateries. We enjoyed our lunch at the Harbour Tavern watching to tide leave the boats high and dry.
It was here that my camera lens broke - the end lens just falling out and refusing to go back in. Our photography will be restricted to the iPhone until I can fix or replace it.

Did you meet Doc Martin??
